Green Petroleum Coke
Green Petroleum Coke
Green Petroleum Coke (GPC) is a solid, carbon-rich material that is a byproduct of the oil refining process, specifically from the coking units used to upgrade heavy crude oil residues. It is called “green” because it is unprocessed and contains higher levels of volatile matter compared to calcined petroleum coke. GPC is primarily used as a raw material in the production of anodes for aluminum smelting, as a fuel in industrial applications, and in the production of other carbon-based products.
